Mr Gaunt, an internationally-recognised vascular surgeon has announced exciting new plans to open a vein clinic in Norwich.

Michael Gaunt, who has built up a successful reputation serving patients in Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds, is now preparing to expand his services after teaming up with fellow experienced practitioner Jim Clarke to open the Norwich Vein Clinic in the New Year.

The clinic will operate out of the Norwich Spire Hospital and will allow Mr Gaunt to see people with venous problems from Norfolk right on their doorstep.

He explained: “In the past patients from Norwich had to travel to see me at one of my other hospitals but this new arrangement will be much more convenient. 

“The aim of the clinic is to provide patients with access to the latest walk-in, walk-out techniques for the treatment of varicose veins and thread veins.”

The clinic will allow Norfolk patients to see Mr Gaunt for consultations and have their treatments at the award-winning Spire Norwich Hospital.

Mr Gaunt has been a consultant vascular surgeon at Addenbrookes and West Suffolk Hospital Trusts for 12 years, building up a successful independent practice specialising in the minimally-invasive treatment of varicose veins.

He has pioneered a number of new techniques including the radial fibre Endovenous Laser and the latest ClariVein technique – and his expertise is recognised both nationally and internationally.

Mr Gaunt and good friend and colleague Mr Clarke will now be able to offer these services in Norwich from January 21st 2012, where free 15 minute no obligation consultation appointments can now be booked.

Mr Gaunt, who is also a Associate Lecturer and Senior Visiting Research Fellow at Cambridge University, added: “We have come together with the aim of providing patients in the Norwich area with the very latest minimally invasive and local anaesthetic techniques for the treatment of varicose and thread veins.”
