Mr Gaunt's research effort is concentrated in three areas: 1. Understanding the physiological implications of Carotid Artery Surgery and ways of making it safer. 2. Understanding the factors influencing outcome in Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm surgery, and in particular ways of reducing mortality in emergency settings. 3. Treatment of varicose veins. He has produced and presented a large number of scientific and clinical publications and supported by a number of grants from the Stroke Association, he currently leads and active lab in the Cerebrovascular Research Unit at Addenbrooke's Hospital and is Director of the Cambridge Vascular Research Institute. |
